My position at SunGard Availability Services gave me privilege of top security Clearance for 6 years, I could enter every area of every building in Canada, which there were only three of us that had that privilege, the Facilities Manager who I reported too whom reported directly to “The Director of Canadian Operations!”

“The Deflated Weekly Football Award”  an incentive awarded to employees in recognition for consistently going above and beyond their own duties to improve employee and customer morale,  I received this award on November 15, 2004, after just 19 months. All Pictures 306

Employed as a full time Shipper/receiver from April 3, 2003 to Sept 31, 2004, a placement by Pro-Temps Employment Agency.  And yes it was an actual football, less the air to display on your desk for one week. I would continue as a Temporary employee until Sept 2004. I was hired by the “Director of Canadian Operations” under contract effective Oct 1, 2004 through to Sept 9, 2009 operating as “Melvin T. Kinden Business # 86476-9245 RT0001”  Ontario Ltd.

SunGard was based out of Wayne, PA, United States, an American company specializing in Data storage & recovery. I was required to submit an invoice weekly for payment which was sent every Monday via Fedex express. SunGard was a great company to work for, not to mention a awesome Management Team of ten and a staff of twenty-two, I looked forward to work each and every day until March 2006  when that would all change. The company had great incentives to boost employee morale and “The weekly Football Award” was just one of them. SunGard being an international company at the time, a notification email was sent to all employees in recognition as well. On Nov 15, 2004 I was honored to receive the award, presented by a colleague Ray Blain that I would like to share with you below.

We were all close like a family was the way I felt during the first 3 years until in July of 2006 that would all change, I came out at work for reasons that are that of another story. Also in June of 2006 a court battle ended with what I believed to be a victory! The next 3 years would lead to being pushed out the door by SunGard Canada. Head Office gave me enough to start over again but my life would end there that day! [Sept 2009).
